Two Homes

I have two homes a house with my grandpa and an apartment with my mum. I stay with Grandpa from Monday to Friday so I can go to school. At the weekend, I live with mum in the city. With my grandpa, I live on a quiet street. We have a vegetable garden. His house has a conservatry, and I have my own bedroom. Every Friday afternoon, Grandpa helps me pack my bag. I wait for my mum to come and pick me up. My mum lives on a noisy street. The cars and buses whizz past. They always seem to be in a hurry. I don't like to cross the road unless mum is with me. My mum's apartment is very small. It has just one bedroom a lounge, a kitchen and a bathroom. I sleep on a trundle-bed at Mum's house. My bed hides under her bed in the daytime. Our weekends are always busy. We catach the bus to the museum or the pools. We shop at the markets and skate at the park. We sit in the libary and read or we go to the cafe and sit and wait for a hot choclate or something to order.

Walking home in the rain

When the last bell goes for the day. We get ready to go home. On rainy days, we put on our jackets and gumboots. We run in the rain. We splash in the puddles and slide in the mud. I run with my friends and race the wind but we watch out for cars. When the wind is too strong, we hide under the trees prentding to be birds. When we get home, we take off our wet clothes. We put our muddy boots on the steps  Grandma tells us to hang up our jackets. Then we have cocoa with Grandma.
